We've been tracking IKI AI since they launched, and honestly, they've caught our attention for good reason. This Dutch startup is tackling something we all struggle with: drowning in information while somehow never finding what we need when we need it.

What Makes IKI Different

Most knowledge management tools feel like fancy filing cabinets. You dump stuff in, hope you remember where you put it, and pray the search works. IKI flips this on its head with what they call a "self-organizing" library.

The idea is simple but clever: save everything (web pages, PDFs, YouTube videos, your random notes) and let their AI copilot become your personal research assistant. Instead of hunting through folders, you just ask questions and the AI pulls relevant info from your entire knowledge base.

The Chrome Extension Hook

We're impressed by how seamless their Chrome extension makes the capture process. One click saves articles with highlights and context, which sounds basic but most tools make this surprisingly clunky. The fact that it works with cloud drives and does OCR on images shows they're thinking about real workflows, not just demos.

What really sold us was seeing how it handles YouTube videos. Being able to save and search through video content alongside articles and PDFs feels like the future of research.

Early Stage Reality Check

Let's be honest: IKI is still tiny. Four employees, fresh funding from Golden Egg Check Capital, and they're competing against giants like Notion and established players like Mem. That's either brave or crazy, maybe both.

But sometimes small teams move faster. Their Product Hunt launch positioning as "LLM-native" suggests they're building for the AI-first world rather than retrofitting old ideas. We're curious to see if they can execute before bigger players catch up.
